Store Jar - tall

60.00

This cheerful shape is perfect for storing a range of dried food. At home I use these for housing lentils, oats, tea and so on. I make this shape in two sizes, this is the taller of the two.

A tall squared lidded store jar. This pot is thrown on the wheel without a base, allowing me to square it whilst it is soft on the wheel. When leather hard I join it's base. The lid is hand built with a pulled nob on top. Stamp decorated by hand.  I make this shape in two sizes, this is the larger of the two.

The lid is a good fit making for a good functional pot for storing food. At home I use these for lentils, oats, tea and so on.

Fired with a celadon green glaze both outside and inside in the wood-fired slat glaze kiln.  Because the kiln is a cross-draft kiln the flame carrying the salt and wood ash hits the pots side on, naturally creating different faces to the pot. The side to the salt and ash is interesting, the glaze has become paler and started to run down the pot. I have taken photos all the way around to show this.

Please note as with all my wood-fired salt glazed pots, this sale is for the exact pieces described and featured in the photos.
